Wall Shelves: More Space

Sometimes I realize that there are things that are very pretty and precious to me, but just because I don’t have enough space in the room, they end up in a big white box that goes under my bed or into the depths of my closet.

If you also have this problem, I have a very helpful idea for you.

Wall shelves are very common these days. They are both useful pieces of furniture and interesting decorations. And it doesn’t matter whether your house is in a modern or a classical style.

  • Purpose. First of all, understand why you need them. Do you want shelves for storage or decorating purposes? If you need them for storage, you’ll have to get simple wall shelves wide enough to hold items. Make sure they are fixed straight on the wall, so the items don’t slide and fall. Choose hard materials like wood or metal. Glass wall shelves are not recommended for storage, as they might easily break as soon as you put something heavy on them.
If you need shelves for decorating, you can find a great variety of them in every color, size, shape, and price in almost every interior store. You can consult home interior designers or simply create your design.
  • Color. Making a color contrast to the walls of the room will add an interesting effect to the whole house’s interior design. If you have black walls, shelves of white, red, or cream colors (Blanched Almond, Latte, Champagne, or Desert sand) would look great. If the walls in your room are white, you can get shelves of any color you want. You can choose bright colors (American rose, Bright maroon, Cyan, Dandelion, or Emerald) to make the atmosphere more cheerful. Another original option for white walls would be choosing white shelves and putting bright colored and eye-popping items on them. If you’re not sure what color to choose, remember that matching it with the furniture and the curtains is always a safe option.
  • Design. The wall shelves can be in abstract or traditional shapes and designs. They can look like frames, curves, or boxes. You can hang a few straight shelves in a way so they form a picture like tree branches or words. You can also install flashlights or track lighting to make the displayed items more expressive. Wall shelves that represent a broken tray or a vase are also an original choice. When you hang them on the walls, it’ll seem like the other half is inside the wall.

Wall shelves are very useful as they don’t occupy a lot of space and can be hung wherever you want, above the couch, above your be,d or the TV set, around the sink or bathtub, and wherever you find a free space.
